ACLS Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) Webinar

November 28, 2016

Dear ABE Program Directors and Workforce Partners: The 2014 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Agenda's (WIOA) Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) program expands the former English Literacy and Civics Education program to include workforce training opportunities for ESOL students. IELCE programs include concurrent and contextualized English Language Acquisition instruction, workforce preparation activities, civics education activities, and occupational skills training. Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) will host a webinar on two dates in December to review key IELCE components and highlight potential models for innovative IELCE programming. Lessons learned from the state's current IELCE pilots will be shared, as well as strategies for partnering with state Chapter 74 Career/Vocational Technical Education programs on the occupational skills training. The webinar will be offered twice in December (dates below).
Dates:
December 1, 11:00 AM–12:30 PM
December 13, 10:00 AM–11:30 AM
