The Department has moved to 135 Santilli Highway in Everett. The Department's office and Licensure Welcome Center are open. The new location has free parking and is a short walk from the Wellington station on the MBTA's Orange Line.

Special Education Team Leadership Institutes 2017-18 - Information and Applications Available

The Special Education Planning and Policy (SEPP) unit announces the opening of applications for the 2017 Special Education Team Leader Institute. The Leadership Institute begins in August, 2017, is free to participants, and offers at least 62 contact hours over the course of the school year. This year's Institute will provide up to sixty participants with a year of courses and technical assistance that foster their ability to lead Individualized Education Plan (IEP) teams in the development of educational plans that reflect the individual needs of students. We will equip special educational team leaders with tools to foster family and community engagement and improve student outcomes by facilitating team meetings that are collaborative and compliant with regulations and best practices in the field. The deadline for applications is May 15th. Applicants should work with their district leadership to file their application. The Special Education Team Leader (ELT) Institute is provided by the Collaborative for Educational Services (CES). Applications are posted on the CES website.
