Presentation for Special Education Directors on Children With Disabilities Enrolled by Their Parents in Private Schools
The Office of Special Education Planning and Policy is repeating a presentation regarding Children with Disabilities Enrolled by Their Parents in Private Schools (§§ 300.130 – 300.144), originally given at the October 2017 Special Education Directors' Regional Meetings. If you missed the presentation on Administrative Advisory SPED-2018-1 at the October Regional Meetings, you are encouraged to attend. If you already attended the October Regional Meetings, but you feel as though you need a refresher, you are encouraged to attend.
The information presented in this meeting, based on Administrative Advisory SPED-2018-1, is intended to guide Massachusetts public school districts in meeting their federal obligations regarding students with disabilities enrolled by their parents in private schools, including secular, non-secular, and independent schools, or home schooled within the district.
The face-to-face meeting will be held in Malden, MA at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education on March 9th from 10:00 AM–11:30 AM (EST). The snow date is scheduled for March 14th from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM (EST). Due to limited seating, only one participant per district may register for this face-to-face meeting in Malden. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
