The Departments of Early Education and Care (EEC) and Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) are pleased to announce that the Fiscal Year (FY) 2019 (September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019) Early Childhood Special Education Entitlement Grant, Fund Code 262, is returning to DESE for distribution and management.
This change will provide additional opportunities for DESE and districts to align federal entitlement grant programs and build toward uniform application processes, disbursement procedures, and follow up activities. Districts will submit their 262 grant applications via Ed Grants, DESE's web-based grants management system, where applicants submit grant applications, draw down their grant funds, and much more. Additional information is forthcoming regarding this process.
EEC will continue to process all amendments, final reporting, and carry over funds via Tydings requests related to Fund Code 262 for FYs 2016 through 2018. For questions related to Fund code 262 for FY 2016-2018, please contact EECSubmission@mass.gov.
Beginning with FY19 and moving forward, DESE will address all questions related to the grant application, expenditures, and fund use. For questions related to Fund Code 262 for FY 2019 and other Federal Entitlement Grant programs, please contact DESE's Office of Resource Allocation Strategy and Planning (RASP).
For more information, please register for an upcoming webinar on June 21st or June 22nd.
