Update — SMARTT to LACES Transition

September 26, 2018

Dear Program Directors,

The purpose of this letter is to update you on the project timeline for transitioning from SMARTT to LACES.

  • Four training sessions are fully enrolled and over 200 adult education staff will be trained by the middle of next week and be able to train their coworkers in LACES data entry.

  • The Literacy Pro Systems (LPS) and OWL teams have nearly completed the MAPT integration. However, they encountered a few unexpected technical obstacles and MAPT will not be available until October 3. There will be additional information at the training.

  • Wait list records will be migrated and you will be able to enroll students from the wait list by October 3. Please do not create new records for wait listed students.

  • The architecture relating to "Site" differs between SMARTT and LACES. To accommodate, the Literacy Pro team modified the way LACES captures Site information. LPS will add additional features by the end of the year to meet the needs of some multisite programs.

ACLS and LPS thank you for your patience.

Wyvonne Stevens-Carter
Acting State Adult Education Director
