MassONE Receives National Award

The MassONE portal has recently been selected to receive a Best of the Web Award from the Center for Digital Education. This annual competition evaluates higher education, K-12, state and local Web sites on "their innovation, Web-based delivery of public services, efficiency, economy, and functionality." The winners are determined by a panel of national judges. "Once again, this year's entries showed remarkable innovation." said Marina Leight, vice president of education for the Center for Digital Education. "The K-12 Web sites continue to improve communication and expand access to learning resources for the students, parents and teachers that they serve." MassONE was a winner in the K-12 State Web site category. Other 2007 winners in this category included the Public Schools of North Carolina Web Site and GeorgiaStandards.org Portal Tools. Honorable mentions went to the Alabama Learning Exchange and the Kentucky Education Network. The Center for Digital Education is a national research and advisory institute on information technology policies and best practices in K-12 and Higher Education. The Center is a division of e.Republic, Inc., a national publishing, event and research company focused on information technology in the public sector.
