Seeking Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework Review Panelists and Survey Participants
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education invites your application to serve on the Science and Technology/Engineering Review Panel and respond to a survey on the current Framework.
In September, 2007 the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education adopted a schedule to review all seven Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. As the Department initiates a review of the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework, we invite you to provide feedback on the current Framework and to apply to serve on the Review Panel.
The Department's survey http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB228GY3642M4 will gather feedback on the current Framework to inform the review. This survey asks for feedback on standards; inquiry and design skills; organization and use of the Framework; and resources found in the Framework. Please take some time to complete this important survey by April 17, 2009.
The Department is also soliciting applications for the Science and Technology/Engineering Review Panel http://www.doe.mass.edu/news/news.aspx?id=4633. We are seeking representation on the panel from science and technology/engineering educators, faculty, and school leaders serving all grade levels as well as ELL and special education specialists and community representatives. The Review Panel will determine if modifications are needed to reflect current policy, research on science education and learning, and achievement in science and technology/engineering needed for college and 21st century careers. Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 27, 2009. Applicants selected for appointment to the panel will be notified mid April 2009.
