Updated Dates for FY10 Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Bidders' Conferences

Supplemental educational services (SES) are additional, free, academic instruction designed to increase the academic achievement of students in schools identified for improvement, corrective action or restructuring under the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB).

Prospective SES providers are encouraged to complete the Department's Request for Response (RFR) Application entitled "List of Approved Supplemental Educational Service Providers" available for download from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Operational Services Division's Comm-PASS Web site.

Bidders' Conferences help prospective providers and other interested parties learn more about the State's SES RFR and the application process. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to announce the following dates and times of FY09 Bidders' Conferences and related timelines for the review of applications from prospective providers:

Bidders' Conferences

  • Friday, December 11, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Rooms 137A & B at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Malden.
  • Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Rooms 137A & B at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Malden.

Timelines for Review of Applications from Prospective Providers

  • This is a Rolling Enrollment RFR, which means that applications can be submitted at any time during the open solicitation. Although applications may be accepted at any time, the Department has tentatively set the following dates in FY/10 to review applications: Friday, January 29, 2010 and Friday, Friday, June 4, 2010 by close of business at 5:00 p.m. EST on each date indicated. Please note that these dates are subject to change at any time, and there is no guarantee that a submission will result in an award.
  • Applicants will be contacted regarding the status of their applications by mail and e-mail approximately two weeks after each scheduled reading round.
  • Questions regarding the application process must be addressed via email to sesproviders@doe.mass.edu. For more information on the State's SES program and to access application materials, visit the Department's website.

Please note that while adhering to the above timelines will facilitate the prompt review of applications from prospective providers of SES, that prospective providers are welcome to submit applications for review at any time.
