Message for School Districts from the Division of Professional Licensure

I hope you are well and are getting ready for another school year. I am writing to remind you of the wonderful program the Division of Professional Licensure offers to students throughout the Commonwealth. In the last academic year, we visited over 70 schools and organizations throughout the state. We are a state agency who licenses over 330,000 individuals and businesses in Massachusetts. We have 31 Boards of Registration from Architects, Cosmetologists, Engineers, Barbers, Chiropractors, to our newest Board Sheet Metal Workers. Our program includes information cards featuring each one of our professions detailing the following: average salary, number of licensees, basic requirements for licensure, and a "day in the life" which we asked Board members to describe what it is like to be in their profession. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gather information as they are considering their next phase of their life. We are available during the school day as well as evenings for college and career fairs that you might be hosting. I encourage taking advantage of this resource. We have received positive feedback from both students and administrators. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested. Thank you for your time.
