Massachusetts NSLP Coordinated Review Announcement School Year 2009-2010

In accordance with the Code of Federal Regulation for Child Nutrition Programs 7 CFR 210, the districts/agencies listed with this announcement have been selected for a School Food Service Administrative Review during the current 2009-2010 school year.

Program reviews are conducted with the intent of not only ensuring regulatory compliance, but also to assist agencies in improving and strengthening program integrity and management at both the administrative and operational level. Please review the list to see if your district/program has been selected. The list (by program type) of documents that must be available for the scheduled review is located below this letter. A Department Child Nutrition Program Reviewer will contact the district/program in advance to schedule the review.

This administrative review process evaluates the following information and procedures:

  • Meal count system and claim consolidation (Performance Standard I)
  • Meal pattern/Offer vs. Serve requirements (Performance Standard II)
  • School nutrition program participation and nutrition education activities
  • School nutrition and food service management and operational procedures
  • Free and reduced price meal application process including benefit issuance documentation
  • Documentation for revenues and expenditures from the non-profit school food service account
  • Civil rights compliance
  • School food safety program including Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • District Wellness Policy
