Notification of Changes to Certain Commissioner's Districts School Support Grants (Fund Code 323A)

The Office of School Improvement Grant Programs has alerted recipients of Commissioner's Districts School Support Grants (Fund Code 323A) of two important changes being made regarding the fund code and grant allocation.

First, the fund code is being changed from 323 to 771 for all recipients with the exception of Brockton, Lowell, and Worcester because the Department will be using ARRA School Improvement funds instead of regular Title I School Improvement monies to fund the grant. The Department is informing local school districts affected by this change that while the fiscal reporting requirements for ARRA grants differ from other grants, the expectation is that these requirements should be familiar to them because these districts are currently filing reports for other Title I and IDEA ARRA grants.

Second, the Department is increasing the allocation for each of the recipients of the Commissioner's Districts School Support Grants and has asked them to amend grants accordingly.

The Department hopes these additional funds will be useful in accelerating improvement in high need, Title I Schools. Questions about these changes should be directed to the Office of Urban District Assistance.
