High Schools That Work Professional Development Day

Hogan Center at Holy Cross in Worcester

April 14, 2010

8:00 a.m. – 3:00

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - Office for Career/Vocational Technical Education will host a full-day workshop on the goals and key practices of the High Schools That Work school improvement process. Participants will review the ten key practices of High Schools That Work, assess the extent to which their school has implemented the practices, and develop a plan that lists the major action steps the school needs to take to more fully implement the High Schools That Work goals. Lois Barnes, director of state services for school improvement at the Southern Regional Education Board, will lead the workshop.

The workshop will be held at the Hogan Center at Holy Cross in Worcester on April 14th, 2010.

Sign-in will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the session will conclude at 3:00 p.m.

High Schools That Work sites and other high schools with career/vocational technical education programs are invited to send a team to the workshop. It is recommended that the team include the principal or curriculum coordinator, technical teachers, academic teachers, and teachers that work with special populations.
