The Department has moved to 135 Santilli Highway in Everett. The Department's office and Licensure Welcome Center are open. The new location has free parking and is a short walk from the Wellington station on the MBTA's Orange Line.

Statement from Commissioner of Education Mitchell D. Chester on the Gloucester Community Arts Charter School:

MALDEN - "I am planning to schedule a special meeting of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education as soon as possible to discuss this matter and to take appropriate action. I am disappointed that the school did not follow my wishes to not open. Any actions that I recommend will consider both the welfare of the students involved and the school's legal obligations."
