Massachusetts Vocational Technical Teacher Testing Program is Seeking Test Development Team/Examiner Members

The Massachusetts Vocational Technical Teacher Testing Program is updating several examiner/test development teams to design and create both written and performance exams in the licensure areas of:

• Biotechnology

• Diesel Technology

• Facilities Management

The role of members of the Test Development Team/Examiners includes:

A. Development of written and performance examinations in their vocational technical licensure areas to reflect the concepts and skills being taught in Chapter 74-approved vocational technical education programs in Massachusetts and which are based on the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Education Frameworks.

B. Administer and proctor performance examinations, usually once on a yearly basis. Performance examinations are administered in October/November and/or April/May depending on the number of candidates registered. Sites for the administration of these examinations may need to be established.

C. Payment for time worked on assigned activities is at the rate of $32.00 per hour. State and Federal taxes will be withheld as well as mandatory OBRA/PEBSCO retirement. Travel expenses are generally not reimbursed; however, reasonable travel time from site to site with prior approval is allowable.

D. Appointment to the team is for a one-year period and is renewable based on performance and it is of utmost importance that all test materials remain confidential to guarantee the integrity of our program.

If you would like to apply to join the test development/examiner team, please send a resume, a copy of your Massachusetts Educator Approval or License and a letter of recommendation for your participation from your supervisor as listed in the Guidelines for New Test Development Team Members/Examiners. Submit by these documents by November 12, 2010.

Thank you for taking time out of you busy day to consider this endeavor and please do not hesitate to contact me at (978) 441-4947 or by email rmarchand@gltech.org should you have any questions. Sincerely, Richard Marchand, Director
