DMH Provider Forum on Restraint/Seclusion Prevention - Thursday, May 2, 2013
On Thursday, May 2nd, from 8:30 - 3:30 the Department of Mental Health (DMH) is hosting a Provider Forum on Restraint/Seclusion Prevention. The forum will be held at the Hoagland-Pincus Conference Center in Shrewsbury, MA. The forum will feature Kim Sanders, Chief Outcomes Officer from Grafton Health Network in Virginia, Ms. Saunders will share her experience with restraint/seclusion prevention for youth who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. The afternoon session will provide opportunities to learn about innovative strategies or alternatives used towards the goal of preventing restraint and seclusion use. Deadline for registration is Wednesday, April 24th. See attached registration information .
There will be a "Speed Networking" lunch session, which will provide attendees the opportunity to meet and share with one another their innovations and alternatives. Each provider/program is asked to bring 250 copies of a 1-page description of your approaches or strategies (i.e. new policies, resources, brochures, use of therapy pets, revised strategic plans etc.) to share during this time.
