Public Hearing Scheduled on Virtual School Application
MALDEN - The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ESE) has been scheduled a public hearing for community members to comment on the virtual school application submitted by Greenfield Public Schools.
The application will undergo a rigorous review process over the next few months. The public hearing represents an opportunity for interested parties to provide feedback on the application. At least one member of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will attend the hearing and report back to the full Board on the public testimony provided at the hearing.
The public hearing will be held on Monday, May 6 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Department's offices in Malden. Directions are available on the Department's website.
In addition to the hearing, members of the public can submit written comments through Monday, May 20, 2013, to Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education by emailing email@example.com.
The application process includes a review of the written application by a review team, a public hearing, an interview of the applicant group by the Department, and a review of any public comments offered to ESE. Elementary and Secondary Education Commissioner Mitchell Chester will then review all of the materials and make final recommendations to the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for consideration and vote at its June 25, 2013 meeting.
