Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS)

Reminder – Continuous Improvement Plans Due Soon – 11/1/13

September 25, 2013 Dear Program Directors. This is a reminder that all Community Adult Learning Centers and ABE Instructional Programs for Incarcerated Adults are required to engage in a continuous improvement planning process and to submit a continuous improvement plan each year. To capture the goals, objectives and action steps in your plan, please use the template found in the helpful resource entitled, Planning for Program Improvement: A Manual for Adult Basic Education Programs: Download PDF Document. An equally important resource for the planning process is the Program Self Evaluation and ACLS Monitoring tool: http://www.doe.mass.edu/acls/abeprogram/. To review the complete policy related to continuous improvement planning, please see the FY13 Massachusetts Guidelines for Effective Adult Basic Education which can be found at: http://www.doe.mass.edu/acls/rfp/. Continuous improvement plans are due to your Program Specialist by November 1, 2013. Please contact your Program Specialist with any questions. As always, thank you for your commitment to adult basic education. With Literacy in Mind. Anne Serino
