Student Technology Support Teams

Overview

With the increasing number of educational technology devices being used in schools, some IT departments are finding it difficult to keep pace with technological support needs. To meet the growing needs of students and faculty, several Massachusetts districts have implemented innovative programs where students take on the role of providing technology support. These programs have the dual purpose of bridging the gap in technology support and offering students real-world experience.

The Office of Digital Learning, in collaboration with the Northeast Comprehensive Center (NCC), selected districts within the state to provide information on how students support their schools' technological needs. With guidance from the NCC the districts produced their own videos and provided testimonials for this page. In addition, the program directors' contact information is provided for school officials who are interested in starting comparable programs at their schools.

Click on each school below for case studies, interviews with teachers and students, and videos provided by the schools regarding their student technology support programs.

Please contact Monique C. Morgan, mmorgan@northeastcompcenter.org, at the Northeast Comprehensive Center if you would like to share details about your student technology support program.
