Instructional Resources

The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS provide consistent standards and assessments. OMSTE works to support the implementation of standards-based high quality instruction, and to provide resources for schools and classrooms to enhance instruction. Connecting Math and Literature

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to offer a resource for K-8 teachers for creating a math library for children to connect math and literature. It includes a bibliography of books at each grade level that address the five strands presented in the Mathematics Curriculum Frameworks: number sense and operations; patterns, relations, and algebra; geometry; measurement; and data analysis, statistics and probability.
