Instructional Resources
The Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and MCAS provide consistent standards and assessments. OMSTE works to support the implementation of standards-based high quality instruction, and to provide resources for schools and classrooms to enhance instruction. Instructional websites, bibliographies and glossaries are included in the Mathematics and Science and Technology/Engineering Frameworks .

The original 2006 document has been modified to increase its sensitivity for use in classrooms providing math instruction to English Language Learners. While most of the original (and many additional) indicators represent good practice for all students, many are imperative for effective teaching and learning for ELL students.

Connecting Math and Literature
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to offer a resource for K-8 teachers for creating a math library for children to connect math and literature. It includes a bibliography of books at each grade level that address the five strands presented in the Mathematics Curriculum Frameworks: number sense and operations; patterns, relations, and algebra; geometry; measurement; and data analysis, statistics and probability.
