Strand Maps of the 2001/2006 MA Science and Technology/Engineering Standards

The strand maps presented here have been developed to support the review of the Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering (STE) Curriculum Framework. They are modeled on the Atlas of Scientific Literacy by AAAS. These strand maps reflect the relationships between current MA STE standards. Future versions will be created to reflect revised standards.

Please be sure to review the Assumptions and Key as you explore the strand maps.

The strand maps are currently available in two formats:*

• PDF documents. These print out on legal-size paper (except the PK-5 and 6-8 strand maps). You will need to cut and paste the pages together.
• CMAPTools documents. These are electronic files created in CMAPTools. You will need to download the free software. Maps can be manipulated and/or printed in various sizes.
