Massachusetts Proprietary Schools

Proprietary schools are privately owned and operated post-secondary schools organized as either a non-profit or a profit-making venture primarily to teach vocational skills. The Department regulates business, trade, and correspondence schools.

	Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) SEVIS is an automated process that collects, maintains, and manages information about international foreign students and exchange visitors during their stay in the United States and is mandated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
