Allstate Institute of Technology, located in Chicopee, closed on December 10, 1998. The Department has reviewed all claims and is working with loan servicing agencies and the American Student Assistance agency (the Massachusetts loan guarantor for federal student loans) to obtain information on the status of student loans. Once this portion of the process is complete, the Department will calculate the total amount of the claims and pro-rate the claims against the bond. Shortly thereafter checks will be disbursed. The percent of individual restitution will be determined by the amount of the claims against the bond.
The Department will post a bulletin as soon as checks are disbursed.
