Closed Schools Repository Listing
The list below contains information on closed non–degree granting, post-secondary (beyond high school) proprietary schools. For information on records for closed private elementary and secondary schools, please see the contact information provided in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section below.
If any records remain for the non-degree granting, private post–secondary schools, they may reside with a repositor, a record holder, whose contact information is listed below. Please note that in accordance with Massachusetts state law, "If a school closes or ceases to do business as a school, it shall provide a repository for all students' permanent records and enrollment contracts. These records shall be maintained for a period of seven years from the date of the school's closing." (603 CMR 3.12(3))
Students of closed schools may locate their school on the list below and must contact the repositor directly for records and transcripts. If the school closed more than seven (7) years ago, and the contact information below is no longer valid, it is likely that the records no longer exist. Please see the FAQ below for additional options.
If the Department is the designated repositor and you wish to receive copies of your records, please submit a transcript request form to the Department. You must send the request with your original signature; facsimiles and emails cannot be accepted. This form should not be used for schools with repositors other than the Department as the Department only has those records as noted below.
