Proprietary schools are privately owned and operated post-secondary schools organized as either a non-profit or a profit-making venture primarily to teach vocational skills. The Department regulates business, trade, and correspondence schools.

In this section you will find informational bulletins on newly closed schools, a list of all closed schools with information on obtaining students' records from these schools, a chart with the status of claim processing for newly closed schools, and notices of when schools' and students' records are scheduled to be destroyed

Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS)
SEVIS is an automated process that collects, maintains, and manages information about international foreign students and exchange visitors during their stay in the United States and is mandated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
