Special Assistance: Special Education Program Review Preparation (Fund Code 256)

The purpose of these grants is to provide federal special education funds to assist public school districts, charter schools, and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approved private special education schools in preparing for a scheduled Special Education Program Review that will determine compliance with state and federal special education requirements.

Special Education Corrective Action Assistance (Fund Code 252)

The purpose of these grants is to provide federal special education funds that will assist public school districts, charter schools and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approved private special education schools to implement Corrective Action Plans in response to Coordinated Program Review findings under special education criteria (and criteria in other program areas such as Civil Rights/Methods of Administration or English Language Learner Education that are related closely to special education) and to improve services to students with disabilities.
