Massachusetts PreK-12 Literacy Plan

The Department received a grant from the National Governors Association (NGA) Center for Best Practices in February 2006 to convene an adolescent literacy task force that will make recommendations to the state regarding objectives that will comprise a five-year strategic plan to improve literacy achievement in grades 4-12 across the Commonwealth. Simultaneously, a parallel group will work on objectives for PreK-3, and the final plan will propose a comprehensive PreK-12 literacy plan for Massachusetts.
