Responses to Questions received from level 5 schools for ELT Grant Fund Code 225-C

Q1:
Regarding Part III - Required Program Information - Since the RFP says that the applicant is the "District/Agency" who should the applicant be in the case where a receiver has been selected to operate a Level 5 school pursuant to G.L. c. 69, § 1J?
A1:
The receiver may submit the application because the receiver has full operational and managerial control over the school.
 
 
Q2:
Section I - District Level Report - How can this section be addressed in the case of a receiver?
A2:
The applicant must describe and identify elements of the existing 2013-2014 school plan and how it fits into the district context.
 
 
Q3:
When asked about districts past experience running ELT, how can receivers respond?
A3:
The applicant is encouraged to describe lessons learned from past experiences running ELT and/or OST programs, how those lessons have been applied to this application, and what will be different about this program compared to the previous one(s).
 
 
Q4:
Section II - School level Report - (mislabeled on RFP as III)
A4:
Applicants must identify the elements of the new turnaround and/or other strategic plans that will be addressed through the proposed additional time.
 
 
5Q:
How do we describe the reasons for proposing the school(s)/site(s) included in this application (as opposed to another/others in the district, if there is more than one school in the district)?
A5:
The applicants must explain the context for the new turnaround plan and specifically describe how time will be used as a turnaround strategy.

Who should sign the assurances in the case of a receiver - since the RFP says "Superintendent"?

The receiver may sign the assurances because the receiver has full operational and managerial control xxxxover the school.
