Rethinking Equity and Teaching for English Language Learners (RETELL)

Graduate Credit for the SEI Endorsement Course

The institutions listed below will award graduate credit for educators who complete a state offered SEI Endorsement course. Please contact the institution directly with any questions. The Department makes no claims regarding the relative merits of any of these or any other credit-granting institutions.

  • Grades for courses ending December 31st or earlier will be reported by the end of February
  • Grades for courses ending by February 28th will be reported by the end of April
  • Grades for courses ending by June 30th will be reported by the end of August

3 graduate credits for the Teacher — Full course ($150)
1 graduate credit for the Administrator Endorsement course ($50)

Application and payment are due 1 week before conclusion of the course.
Payment may be made by credit card, personal check or bank check (cash not accepted).
Application and payment may be mailed, faxed or E-mailed.

Once the grades have been submitted by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to the college, you may access your grade by requesting an official transcript.
Anna Maria College

3 graduate credits for the Teacher — Full course ($100)

Note: Anna Maria College does not offer the course, just graduate course credit.

To apply for graduate credit please:
  • Complete the required components of the online form under graduate studies.
  • Click on the box titled Sheltered English Immersion Teacher Endorsement Full course
  • Under the course selection fill in the course number and name : EDU 756 Sheltered English Immersion Teacher's Endorsement Full Course
  • Participants need to submit an application during open enrollment
Requirements to earn graduate credit:
  • Pass/Fail is the option for the graduate course. The assumption is that the participant will earn a B or better to pass the course.
  • Graduate credit is granted to those whom successfully complete and pass the course through his/her given district.
Credits granted:
  • EDU 756 Teacher's Endorsement Full Course is a 3-credit graduate course.
Payment:
  • The cost per graduate credit is $100
  • The total cost to participant is $300
  • After registering for the course, participants will receive payment instructions from the Business Office by email.
Upon successful completion of the course:
  • The educator will provide Anna Maria College with a signed and dated written authorization stating his or her consent to allow Anna Maria College to obtain the educator's SEI course grade from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to release such grade to Anna Maria College. This signed request will be dated upon receipt and kept on file.
  • The parties will submit the educator's identifying information, including the educator's grade, through the department's secure web portal.
  • Certification must be submitted within one year of registration.

3 graduate credit for the Teacher — Full course ($285)

Course participants are strongly encouraged to register for graduate credit at the beginning of their course, however they have until the last face-to-face course meeting of their district-based RETELL/SEI course to register with Fitchburg State. Course registration can be completed online. Once a grade has been submitted to us from the ESE, students can request an official university transcript by contacting the Fitchburg State Registrar's Office at registrar@fitchburgstate.edu or by calling (978) 665-4196.

The total cost is $125 and does not include the cost of a transcript. Payment is due at the time of registration. Your registration form will not be processed and you will not be eligible to receive credits until your payment is received. There are no refunds for this class.

To receive credit for the provider offered SEI course, students must sign up for the course at WSU at the same time he/she is enrolled with the SEI provider.
