The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education provides support to school districts with schools identified for improvement, corrective action and restructuring under the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). School and District Intervention is provided to low performing schools and to school districts with high numbers of schools identified for improvement or corrective action. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education also provides NCLB consolidated planning and budgeting support to districts.
 | Requirements for Developing or Revising School Improvement Plans Schools or districts identified for improvement, corrective action or restructuring under Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation (§1114) have certain requirements for developing or revising their respective improvement plans. Furthermore, schools receiving Title I Part A funds as Schoolwide programs are required by NCLB to include specific components in their school improvement plans.
