Smarties Tutoring Services offers instruction in Language Arts and Mathematics using state-of-the-art curricula. Our classes are taught in small groups by experienced teachers who are enthusiastic about helping children improve their math and literacy skills. Our programs make every effort to challenge and motivate students to maximize their academic potential. Smarties recognizes that each child is unique, and we strive to meet the specific needs of each of our students. We set students up for success by expecting rigorous work, while giving them the support that they need to meet our high expectations of them.
Parental involvement is integral to our success. At Smarties, we encourage parent-teacher communication and invite parents to contact us whenever they have a question or concern. Parents are always welcome to attend our programs. After four sessions, parents receive a “Smartie Work Plan” that contains individual goals, assessment scores, and specific areas of academic focus. Each month, parents receive a written report on their child’s progress. At the end of the program, parents receive a comprehensive evaluation that reviews and assesses their student’s achievement based on the “Smartie Work Plan.” |

| Smarties Tutoring Services’ programs are highly effective at improving the academic skills of all students. Over the years, our students have made consistent academic gains. Four out of five of our students improved their scores by more than 10% from pretest to posttest, and half of our students improved by more than 25%. Further, 93% of school teachers surveyed reported that their students who were enrolled in Smarties after school improved their academic performance as a result of our program. School teachers reported that their Smarties students were more engaged in lessons, more motivated, and better behaved in class. Parents are also very satisfied with our programs. Upon program completion, 96% of parents surveyed “agree” or “strongly agree” that their children benefited from our SES program and said that they would enroll their children in Smarties again. |
