| The Main Street Learning Center is an organization that provides a variety of educational and supportive services to at-risk and struggling learners. MSLC provides tutoring in reading, writing, and math through individual and small group instruction. MSLC uses research based curricula which enables students to learn at their own pace and experience success in a motivating environment. |

| After a student is enrolled in supplementary services at the Main Street Learning Center (MSLC), the tutor who will be working with the student sets up an appointment with the student’s classroom teacher and interventionist who work with the student. The tutor gathers information about particular areas of academic concern and review any assessments that the student has had in school including the student’s ISSP if available. The tutor meets with the parent(s) to listen to concerns they may have regarding their child’s academic progress. Based on the information from these two meetings, students are administered appropriate research-based assessments to determine areas of instructional focus. With these results, an individualized instructional program will be devised for the student and discussed with the parent(s). This individual program will include specific goal(s) for each student based on areas of need. |
