Engaging All Families: Strategies for Building Parent-Teacher Partnerships

At this half-day training the Federation of Children with Special Needs and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education introduced parents, educators and administrators to the Massachusetts Family, School and Community Partnership Fundamentals as a self-assessment and guidance tool in examining family engagement practices in their schools and district. Participants devised strategies based upon the Fundamentals to engage all families, including those who are new to this country, those whose primary language is not English, and those who have children with disabilities.
