Networking Opportunities
New England Comprehensive Center (NECC) One of 15 regional comprehensive centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education, NECC helps build the capacity of states and school districts to improve student achievement. NECC is also assisting the Department in developing a statewide preK-12 literacy plan. Resources include technical assistance services, Web-based materials and listservs.
Monthly Conference Calls for Title I Directors The Department hosts monthly conference calls for Title I Directors. These voluntary calls provide a forum for Title I directors to discuss, exchange information and ask questions about Title I programs and policies. Unless otherwise indicated, calls take place at 3:00 PM on the first Wednesday and Thursday of each month. Each session covers the same agenda in order for Title I Directors to have the opportunity to participate at least monthly; calls typically do not last more than one hour. The Department asks that districts limit participation to one caller per district whenever possible.
Massachusetts Title I Dissemination Project The Title I Dissemination Project facilitates the dissemination of information on promising practices through conferences, workshops, and technical assistance. Email title1info@title1project.com.
Statewide Directory of Title I Directors The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regularly communicates with the list of Title I Directors it has on file to keep districts informed about issues such as funding, federal regulations and guidance, Departmental conferences and workshops, required surveys, reporting documents, etc. Each district's Directory Administrator is responsible for keeping the directory up-to-date.
Council of Administrators of Compensatory Education (C.A.C.E.) C.A.C.E. is a Massachusetts organization for Title I administrators. It holds a conference for district Title I administrators each fall.
Title I Director listserv (U.S. Department of Education) A listserv is an electronic mail-based discussion forum for subscribing members. Individuals send e-mail to the listerv's address, and all members on the distribution list receive the message. The U.S. Department of Education's "LEAtitleIdirector" listserv is a free service for district Title I Directors. Subscribers receive timely information to help them administer their programs and learn about new information regarding Title I Part A.
