Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS)

Distance Learning

There are two ways that CALCs can engage students in DL:

  • Hub supported DL: Instruction is provided to enrolled students by the centralized entity called the Hub. Programs choosing this option should complete a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the designated Hub to ensure distance learning services between the Hub and the program.

  • Program supported DL: Instruction is provided by the adult education program for students enrolled in the program or on a waitlist. Programs can offer two models:

    • blended learning where classroom and DL instruction are coordinated and integrated, and/or

    • independent DL where DL and classroom instruction are not integrated.
