Kaleidoscope Collective for Learning

Professional Learning Series

The Kaleidoscope Collective regularly offers free professional learning opportunities to educators from across the Commonwealth who are interested in bringing Deeper Learning to their schools and classrooms. Educators have the opportunity to engage with colleagues in order to strategize ways to apply cutting edge practices and mindsets in their own virtual, hybrid, or in-person classrooms. This site is updated regularly with all of Kaleidoscope's professional learning opportunities!

Kaleidoscope Network for Educators

The Kaleidoscope Collective for Learning (Kaleidoscope) is excited to launch a network for educators interested in transforming their existing use of high-quality instructional materials through Deeper Learning practices and professional learning. Interested schools and districts are encouraged to apply by June 30.

What?

In partnership with Kaleidoscope, educators will work with their school and/or district teams to:

  • Build shared language and understanding of high-quality instruction in service of Deeper Learning within school and district teams,
  • Examine classroom practices that advance Deeper Learning for all learners
  • Establish a team vision of Deeper Learning that is inclusive and equitable for all learners,
  • Develop consistent routines and systems in service of a team vision of Deeper Learning, and
  • Contribute to a growing collection of effective Deeper Learning practices.

Collectively, we will focus on specific teacher and leader actions that transform the student learning experience toward a vision of Deeper Learning. In these network meetings, participants will collaborate and share their learnings and work with other educators from across the state and the Kaleidoscope team.

Who?

This opportunity is best suited for teams that are currently in the process of adopting and/or implementing high quality instructional materials and/or standards-aligned curriculum and who are committed to improving their instructional practices toward a vision of Deeper Learning for all students. The ideal team is composed of 5-7 educators at various levels across the school/district. For example:

  • classroom-level teachers, who can pilot Kaleidoscope tools and protocols in the classroom
  • instructional coaches, who can pilot Kaleidoscope tools and protocols in adult learning spaces
  • school/district leaders, who can make decisions around how to individualize Deeper Learning for the school/district, its vision, and its students.

The ideal team is able to develop systems to support Deeper Learning, grounded in real educators’ work in real classrooms. This opportunity is open to all schools and districts across all grades and content areas.

When?

Participants will meet for 3–6 meetings over the course of the 2022-23 academic year. Dates and times will be determined based on feedback from registered participants.

How to get involved?

All interested parties must express interest by June 30 through the application form found in Center for School and District Partnership (CSDP). Kaleidoscope will follow up with applicants to request some additional information to complete the application process. Participation will be confirmed on a rolling basis and/or until all seats are filled. The program has capacity for approximately 20 school/district teams.
