Topic/Idea Development - Score Point 2

The character Curly is identified as the villain in Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. The central idea is weakly supported in a brief, repetitive description of his villainous attitudes and acts: "he tells his wife to stay in the house," since he "dosend want her to talk to any of the men on the farm, and likes to fight,"so he can "feel better about himself." A lack of details and weak organization add to the distracting effects of repetition and abrupt shifts of emphasis.
