Select the objects you want to group. Hold down SHIFT while selecting objects or use the select objects button from the Drawing toolbar to draw a box to encompas all objects.
On the Drawing toolbar click Draw, and then click Group to combine the selected objects.
Add alt text to the new (grouped) object.
