Safe and supportive schools are critical to the well-being of the whole school community and their families as well as academic success. The following list includes examples of resources and supports which are aimed at creating and nurturing safe and healthy school climates, preventing and responding to school violence, and protecting the school community. These and other initiatives may assist schools and districts as we work to continually safeguard students, staff and families.
SAMHSA Disaster Distress Helpline provides 24/7 365-day-a-year crisis counseling and support to people experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters.
National Parent Helpline (Parents Anonymous)
Just in Time Training on Responding to Mass Violence will be provided on Tuesday, May 31st from 2:00-3:00 PM (EDT) for behavioral health providers offering support to victims of incidents of mass violence. Register online.
