Idea Development - Score Point 1

The central idea of how Rinko in A Jar of Dreams and the speaker in Somewhere Among feel about their heritage is not developed. The essay minimally addresses how they feel "self[-]conscious . . . and dif[f]erent from everyone else." Insufficient details are selected as support: "It's the part that makes me feel dif[f]erent and not as good as the others" and "[Everywhere] I go here or there I am dif[f]erent." Ideas are poorly expressed and supporting details are lacking. This level of development demonstrates minimal awareness of the writing task.

Standard English Conventions - Score Point 1

This essay is insufficient in length to demonstrate more than little control of Standard English conventions. The second sentence is a sentence fragment, and numerous errors in mechanics stand out relative to the length and complexity of writing at this grade level.
Answer for Idea Development Score Point 1, and Standard English Conventions Score Point 1 both of them feel self conscious about there culture and diferent from everyone else. For example in paragraph 30 of A Jar Of Dreams (It's the part that makes me feel diferent and not as good as the others) In Somewhere Among in line 29-31 (Every where I go here or there I am diferent)
