Race to the Top Summary for Public Comment, due January 4

The attached two documents summarize the Massachusetts Race to the Top proposal. The Powerpoint gives an overview of Race to the Top and what is at stake for Massachusetts, and the Word document is a detailed summary of the initiatives we intend to propose. We welcome your comments, and ask that they be framed around these questions:

• Do you think the Massachusetts vision for students is compelling? How would you improve it?
• Which initiatives merit the greatest investment of Race to the Top dollars? How would you improve them?
• Do any initiatives concern you? What would the state have to change to alleviate that concern?

All comments are due no later than Monday, January 4, 2010 to rttt@doe.mass.edu.
