Educators & Administrators

Educators & Administrators

We are committed to achieving excellence in our schools by developing and supporting exceptional educators and administrators.

On this page, educators and prospective educators will find information about the different types of licensure and their requirements, how to get involved with ESE advisory groups, and how to nominate people for state and national educator awards.

In addition, educators and administrators can learn more about the Department’s commitment to ensuring that all students have equal access to excellent teachers and principals, find data about their school and district and how it compares to others and to the state as a whole, and access research reports to inform state and local practices and planning.

Massachusetts is proud to be the home of many of the nation’s finest educators, including 2017 National Teacher of the Year Sydney Chaffee from Codman Academy Charter Public School in Dorchester.

Massachusetts educators directly inform state policy in a number of ways, such as participating in our Teacher and Principal Advisory Cabinets.
