Students and Families

Massachusetts students are first in the United States in reading and math and are competitive internationally. Their success is a direct result of support from families, educators, civic leaders, and the community.

The web pages below are designed to help families explore different school options and individual districts, learn more about supports for English language learners and students with disabilities, become familiar with statewide testing and graduation requirements, and find resources to help students in elementary, middle, high school, and beyond.

In addition, adult learners will find information below about adult education, including English classes.

Massachusetts teachers educate close to 1 million public school students and 20,000 adult learners each year. Over the course of a career, a single teacher can impact hundreds and sometimes thousands of lives. In the 2018-2019 school year, Massachusetts is taking the time to celebrate its aMAzing educators.
