I recognize that many schools remain closed today as a result of the blizzard this week and will also be closed again tomorrow. I hope that you and your school communities are recovering well from the storm. Given these circumstances, the Department is extending the window for make-up testing through February 10 for the February 2015 MCAS Biology test administration. Schools may use February 6, 9, and 10 as additional make-up testing days. As always, schools should return materials as soon as testing is completed, and schools that are able to complete testing on the original administration dates should schedule their UPS pickup, complete the PCPA, and return materials by the original deadlines (Friday, February 6 for scheduling UPS pickup and completing the PCPA, and Monday, February 9 for UPS pickup). Please refer to the updated schedule below:
Monday, February 2Biology Session 1 for schools that are able to begin testing
Tuesday, February 3Biology Session 2 for all schools, including schools that did not administer Session 1 on Monday
Wednesday, February 4Make-up testing period begins
(Note that schools beginning testing this day should begin with Session 1.)
Thursday, February 5Make-up testing
Friday, February 6Additional day for make-up testing
Monday, February 9Additional day for make-up testing
Tuesday, February 10Additional day for make-up testing
New deadline to schedule UPS pickup and complete the PCPA
Wednesday, February 11New deadline for UPS pickup
If your school remains closed next week and you will be unable to meet the extended deadline, please call Student Assessment Services at 781-338-3625 to discuss possible alternatives.
