Note on E-rate Category 2 budgets pending new rules

The FCC has an ongoing proceeding underway to address Category 2 budget rules and funding as of FY 2020. Although FCC action is possible later in 2018, a decision in 2019 is more likely. In the meantime, current budget rules apply to any 5-year period beginning in subsequent years. For example, applicants first funded for Category 2 in federal funding year (FFY) 2018 will have budgets extending through FFY2022.
