Districts with potential needs for fiber-optic infrastructure and Wi-Fi

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) partners with EducationSuperHighway (ESH), a national nonprofit, to upgrade the Internet access in every school.

The first table provides information about public school districts with potential needs for fiber-optic infrastructure and their E-rate Category 1 discount level. The second table lists districts and schools with 50 percent or more remaining in their E-rate Category 2 budget for Wi-Fi, their competitive bidding status ("Filed 2019 C2 470?"), and whether they completed a survey from ESH ("Completed ESH Survey?") regarding their Wi-Fi needs.

ESH provides free technical assistance and tools to all Massachusetts districts. Districts with questions about the data should contact Christine Yoo. The E-rate filing window for Federal Fiscal Year 2019 closes on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
