Educator Evaluation

Training Videos and Workshops

The following training videos and workshops, developed in partnership with Massachusetts teachers, provide important introductory information on the educator evaluation framework and provide teachers an opportunity to engage in components of the 5-Step Cycle, such as the self-assessment, goal-setting, and development of an Educator Plan. Schools can use a variety of settings to present these materials. The workshops are designed to be facilitated during a one-hour time block, such as Common Planning Time or a faculty meeting.

Training Workshop 1: Rubric Review

The purpose of this workshop is to ensure that educators understand the Standards and Indicators on the performance rubric, as well as the evaluation scale (Unsatisfactory to Exemplary). This workshop is based on the DESE Model Teacher Rubric, but schools that have chosen to adapt the Model Rubric or created their own rubrics can modify the workshop to match their own rubric.
