Registration Deadline Extended: Spring 2014 Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Theory and Practice Sessions – Limited Spaces Still available

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in partnership with CAST, is happy to announce (2) one-day introductory sessions to Universal Design for Learning (UDL), "Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Theory and Practice." Each session will feature a key note by Dr. David Rose, co-founder of CAST, on the theory behind UDL, followed by presentations from Massachusetts educators on the implementation of UDL at the classroom, school, and district levels.

Who Should Attend:

The sessions are open to school or district teams of up to 6 people from Level 3, 4, and 5 districts. Districts should send teams of classroom teachers, coaches, and administrators who are interested in learning about UDL and its application in a schools and classroom. Participants will be provided with an overview of UDL as well as information about future professional development offerings in UDL.

How to Apply:

To register All school or district teams must have an identified district or school team leader, but all team members must register individually. Registration closes on Wednesday, May 14th, at noon, and participants will be notified of enrollment via email by Monday, May 19th, 2014. Please note, registering does not guarantee admittance to the session(s). Enrollment in each session will be prioritized in this order:
  • priority to districts that are participating in The Partnership Project (TPP): Attleboro, Beverly, Chelsea, Pittsfield, West Springfield, Winchendon
  • priority to Commissioner's districts
  • priority to DSAC districts
