Office of Digital Learning
Data snapshot date fast approaching!
In our Office of Digital Learning Newsletter, we indicated the Technology Readiness Tool (TRT) data snapshot would be taken on June 13, 2014. This is to notify districts that we are extending the snapshot date to Friday, June 27, 2014.
We urge all districts to check their submission status in the TRT prior to the collection date. The data you provide assists in our ability to substantiate the need for statewide supports. Districts with incomplete data will receive an email from ESE leadership.
People often confuse the "PARCC" Technology Readiness Tool with administration of the PARCC Field Test and/or the PARCC Computer Based Test in general. The TRT is not gauging readiness for the field test; the TRT is a tool that allows you the ability to assess your district and schools' overall readiness for any online assessment. Users provide detailed information about their devices, bandwidth, student enrollment, and testing windows which is calculated to show a level of "readiness." Accuracy of the data depends on the district submitting the information.
These data are invaluable in helping us identify your device and infrastructure needs, not just for assessment, but for strengthening teaching and learning through technology. We encourage districts to strive for the "recommended" benchmarks to support digital learning now and in the future.
We are currently configuring accounts for any educational technology director who may not already have a TRT user account. If you are unsure whether you have an account, please check here for your username and password: https://www.techreadiness.net/ If you do not have an account, please look in your inbox this week for an email with directions OR request an account here: http://techreadiness.pearson.com/Registration.
