MassCUE Leadership in Blended and Digital Learning Program

The MassCUE Leadership in Blended and Digital Learning (LBL) program offers a job-embedded professional learning experience to prepare principals and their school-based leadership team to lead a digital and blended learning transition in their school. The program, developed by the Friday Institute, is delivered as a 60 hour blended course made up of FIVE Modules or Sessions. Participants will be led by experienced practitioners from the Commonwealth who have been trained by the Friday Institute staff. Selected school teams who are accepted into the first cohort of this program will be guided through a planning process to produce a Roadmap for Leading a Digital and Blended Learning Transition in their school.

  • Developing a shared vision for blended and personalized learning
  • Leading an effective blended and personalized learning transformation
  • Building a strong teaching workforce
  • Fostering a school culture that supports blended and personalized learning

Important Dates:

  • December 14th 2015 ­- January 31st, 2016 ­ Application period opens
  • Applications are due online by Monday, February 1, 2016 by 12:00 Noon
  • February 1st, 2016 ­- February 5th ­ Applications reviewed and scored by MassCUE
  • February 8th 2016 ­- Cohort 1 announced; MassCUE will select up to 50 participants in the first Cohort
  • Required Orientation Meeting - March 1st 2016 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (will be delivered face-to-face and virtually for those who cannot attend in person)

  • Session 1: Defining Blended Learning - Saturday, March 19th 2016 (face-to-face - 6 hours)
  • Session 2: Creating a Culture for Blended Learning - Saturday, April 30th 2016 (face-to-face - 6 hours)
  • Session 3: Shifting Teaching and Learning - Saturday, June 4th 2016 (face-to-face - 6 hours)
  • Session 4: Supporting Teachers Through Professional Learning - begins Saturday, July 9th 2016 **This session will be delivered online
  • Session 5: Implementing and Sustaining Blended Learning - Saturday, September 17th 2016 (face-to-face - 6 hours)
