Special Education Leadership Academy for Administrators of Career/Vocational Technical Education (CVTE) 2017-2018

Three-person teams of special education directors, CVTE directors, and curriculum directors from Chapter 74-approved or Perkins-funded CVTE programs are invited to apply for this no cost, graduate-level academy which includes 62 hours of face-to-face facilitated training; collaboration and planning with CVTE colleagues; and support and coaching around capstone project development and implementation. The goals of the academy are to foster leadership skills focused on building a common understanding of local school-wide programs and initiatives, including the integration of academic and technical content; to develop strategies that foster student engagement; to build a school-wide culture of high expectations, shared accountability, and responsibility for students with disabilities; and to sustain high quality inclusive CVTE programs unique to Massachusetts through a data-driven culture of inquiry and action cycles. Academy dates: July 12/13, August 22/23, October 19, January 24, April 11/12. All sessions will be held in Devens, MA.
